We are seeking highly motivated individuals with Customer Service experience to join our West County team located near Lake Okeechobee, also known as Florida's agricultural heartland, at the front counter! In this role, you will have the exciting opportunity to expand your knowledge in multiple areas of the legal field.
You will be responsible for processing documents for Recording and for cases involving Unified Family Court, Civil and the Violations Bureau.
This role offers an excellent platform to gain valuable experience and develop essentials skills for future career growth here at the Clerk's office.
This position is eligible for a one dollar per hour stipend which has already been added to the salary advertised.
The one dollar per hour stipend will be awarded upon completion of the introductory period.

FUNCTIONS SPECIFIC TO VIOLATIONS BUREAU AREA Cashiers criminal traffic and ordinance violations; reinstates driver's licenses; Scans and updates over-the-counter citations; Sets court hearings; Provides statistical reports; runs collections process and payoff requests; performs other customer service related functions.
_ Accepts documents for recording; identifies document type; verifies statutory requirements; Calculates and cashiers related taxes and fees; issues certified copies; Performs specialized recording tasks including the processing of Declaration of Domicile and Domestic Partnership; Scans documents; verifies legibility of documents scanned into the Official Records; Accepts VAB petitions and documents to be filed in existing County Civil and Family Cases; Processes e-filed documents; Process passport applications; Issue marriage license and perform marriage ceremony.
Typical Qualifications High school diploma (or GED) supplemented by five (5) years of recent and relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to accurately apply acute attention to detail in maintenance of detailed data preferably in an automated systems environment; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
Some vocational or college courses preferred.
Once qualified deputization may be required to perform the assigned functions.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
